Tropical ecosystems – from process to policy

After six successful meetings, the legendary BES-TEG Early Career Research Meeting returns. Day one will focus on Ecology and Ecosystem Processes, while day two will focus on Practical Applications and links to Policy such as conservation, livelihood, policy and development.
All early-career researchers, both PhD and Post-Docs, are welcome to present their tropical ecology related research with a poster and/or oral presentation. There shall be a competition for both with prizes. This event will take place at Derwent College (D/L//047) and the accommodation at Alcuin College (see map link below).
Abstract Participants may submit one contributing abstract (talk or poster) that falls within the scope of the meeting. Abstract body text is limited to 300 words. All abstracts should be submitted by Monday the 30th of June 2014 to environment-kite@york.ac.uk
Talks Oral presentation will last for 15 mins followed by 5mins Q&A.
Posters A0 size. All posters should be displayed by Thursday the 14th of August at 9:30am.
Prizes The top 3 posters and oral presentations will be awarded prizes.
Programme Copies of the detailed programme with the running order of sessions will be sent out by the 15th of July 2014.
Meal (Optional) We shall be having a meal out on Thursday the 14th of August at 8pm in York, for an additional fee of £25 per person (drink inclusive).
